Gear:

  1. Treat pouch with treats

  2. Place bed

Set Up:

  • Bed Location: Adjust for the dog in a given environment or criteria

  • Training Position: Adjust for the dog in a given environment or criteria


Generalization

Build random combinations of Steps 2-5

  • Use your Criteria Setting skills to adjust based on what your dog finds easy or hard

  • This requires you to put your training knowledge and knowledge about what challenges your dog to the test

  • There isn't really a wrong answer -> just a data point to adjust from for the environment that you are targeting to be successful in with your dog

Simple Combo

60 sec duration with 15 steps & 3 dropped treats

Intermediate Combo

Sending the dog to Place from the Kitchen, making, and then eating a sandwich while seated

Advanced Combo

Asking your dog to hold Place while multiple friends come to visit, share a meal, and play games

Note: Be specific and document what you are working on. If/When they break Place before being released you can look at the criteria (Duration, Distance, or Difficulty) and determine how to split it to make it easier for the next rep.
